Kosovo deputy prime minister Besnik Tahiri called as odd the release of the Specialist Prosecutor’s Office (SPO) announcing filing of the indictment against Kosovo president Hashim Thaci and PDK leader Kadri Veseli.
Despite the recent developments related to the Hague based Court Tahiri says the Government has no plans to undo the Court which is established by the Kosovo Parliament in 2015. “The liberation war was just. It is obvious who the aggressor and victim were. Current Government has no initiative on abrogating the Specialist Chambers Law,” Tahiri said reminding that the Law on Kosovo Specialist Chambers and Specialist Prosecutor’s Office was approved by the Parliament of Kosovo.
Commenting on the announcement of the Kosovo Liberation Army veterans to protest the indictments filed by the Hague prosecutors, Tahiri said protesting is a legitimate right. “They know that they cannot stop or prevent [the Court]. There is no initiative or step which would be in contradiction with the rule of law,” Tahiri stated. /GazetaExpress/
