The Parliament of Kosovo has elected Naim Qelaj as new Ombudsperson.
Qelaj was elected as new Ombudsman with 69 votes in favour, five against and three abstentions. He has not managed to get the required votes during previous session of the Parliament. Kosovo’s Ombudsman has a five-year mandate.
Qelaj was deputy minister of Justice representing the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) at the time their leader Ramush Haradinaj was prime minister. Currently he serves as national coordinator for protection against domestic violence. /GazetaExpress/
