Kosovo Court publishes final ruling paving the way to form new Government

The Constitutional Court of Kosovo has published Monday the final ruling that a new government can be formed without holding a snap election. Publishing of the decision procedurally paves the way for Avdullah Hoti of the LDK to form new Government.  

The Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) said today they will submit a request to the Parliament asking vote of a new Government headed by Hoti. Chief of the LDK caucus, Arben Gashi, told T7 TV that today at 15:30 they will submit the request asking for an extraordinary session of Parliament. The LDK said over the weekend that they cannot initiate procedures on calling a Parliament session to vote new Government without publication of the final decision by the Court.

Last week the Court ruled that President Hashim Thaci did not violated the Constitution when nominating Hoti of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) to form a new Government without holding fresh elections. The Vetevendosje challenged Thaci’s decree to the Constitutional Court insisting Kosovo needs new elections to have a legitimate government.

The Government headed by Vetevendosje leader Albin Kurti, was dismissed on 25 March after only 50 days of work, following disagreements with its main partner, the LDK over tariffs on Serbian goods and management of CVID-19 pandemic. /GazetaExpress/
