German Ambassador to Pristina, Jorn Rohde, said that he expects all Kosovo institutions to ensure the organisation of credible, inclusive, and transparent elections conducted in accordance with international standards.

Rohde said that all pre-electoral procedures, including on the certification of candidates, are still ongoing. “These procedures are defined by law and include possibilities for appeal,” Roohde wrote on Twitter. Further German Ambassador said that it is important that independent institutions are able to conduct their work without interference.

“All stakeholders need to respect the due process and relevant rules and guidelines which guarantee fair and transparent elections. It is important that independent institutions and the relevant judicial bodies are able to conduct their work without interference,” Rohde said.

German Ambassador’s reaction came after today’s press conference of the Central Elections Commission chairwoman, Valdete Daka, who said that threats coming from political parties are unprecedented and dangerous. Daka held a press conference a day after the Vetevendosje’s senior official, Glauk Konjufca, said that the CEC chair is working in CEC against their leader Albin Kurti and this institution wants “political elimination” of Kurti. /GazetaExpress/
