Ex-KLA fighter to be released after North Macedonia rejects Serbia’s extradition request

The Supreme Court of North Macedonia has rejected a Serbian extradition request for a former member of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) accused of war crimes.

Sources within the Supreme Court in Skopje told media in North Macedonia that now it is a matter of time when ex-KLA member Tomor Morina will be released from detention. According to media the legal procedures on Morina’s release are expected to be concluded within hours.

Morina’s lawyer, Naser Raufi, is optimistic that his clinet will be released soon, reiterating that the Law on international cooperation, was in favor of his client.

Morina was arrested on 24 July at the border crossing of Bllace while entering North Macedonia. He was arrested based on international warrant at Serbia’s request suspected of committing war crimes during 1998-1999 war in Kosovo.  /GazetaExpress/
