Ex-KLA commander Kadri Veseli’s father dies

Father of former Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) commander Kadri Veseli died Wednesday, his family confirmed to Gazeta Express.

In November 2020, the Kosovo Specialist Chambers (KSC) indicted Veseli and three other senior commanders of KLA of war crimes and transferred them to the detention facilities in The Hague.  

In May 2021 Veseli was granted provisional release from the Kosovo Specialist Chambers detention on compassionate grounds to visit his father Faszli Veseli in the hospital in Mitrovica South after he felt ill.

Veseli was chairman of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) and Speaker of the Kosovo Assembly. Senior officials of the PDK and institutional leaders have expressed their condolences to his family. /GazetaExpress/
