Over 5,000 active COVID-19 cases in Kosovo

The number of daily COVID-19 cases has dropped significantly over the last few days, and the number of active coronavirus cases stands at 5,749, according to the health officials.

The National Institute of Public health in its latest update published on Thursday said that 106,754 infections have been registered in Kosovo since the pandemic began. Of them 98,787 have recovered.  Over two thousand people have died from COVID-19 infections since the pandemic began last year.

On Friday health authorities have continued vaccination of people over 65-year-old. The vaccination is ongoing at the Sports Hall “1 October!” in capital Pristina, whereas other municipalities are continuing vaccination process in their respective health care institutions. Authorities urged Kosovo citizens to respect COVID-19 measures as Kosovo celebrated Thursday Eid Eid-al-Fitr. /GazetaExpress/
