There are no obstacles for a comprehensive agreement between Kosovo and Serbia to be reached during mandate of Albin Kurti and Vjosa Osmani, said Tuesday in Pristina the European Union Special Representative on Dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak.

Kurti and Osmani’s political election list – the Vetevendosje won 14 February snap election and Kurti is expected to form the new government. Osmani is expected to be confirmed as president of Kosovo.

Addressing media after meeting Kosovo’s acting president Vjosa Osmani, Lajcak has reiterated that the dialogue can be completed within several months and will not take years.

“As soon as Kosovo and Serbai are ready, this process can be completed within several months, and it is not a matter of years. It is not up to the EU. Is up to Kosovo and Serbia to set the deadlines how soon they would like to conclude this. If they want monthly or weekly meetings,” Lajcak said. “I think that we can complete this process with a comprehensive agreement during Kurti and Osmani’s mandate, I see no obstacles in this path,” Lajcak has stated.

Lajcak said that he meant to offend no one with the map in his office, which distinct Kosovo’s border with Serbia comparing with the borderline of other countries. Kosovo media have extensively written last week that Lajcak during a video interview with the European Western Balkans online media had in his background a map depicting Kosovo as part of Serbia. But he denied these claims saying that the map is the official version the EU is using.

Kosovo’s acting president Osmani said that Kosovo cannot make concessions in dialogue and it is “not a market cart filled with fruits and vegetables when anybody can pick something they want.”

Osmani said that Kosovo sees the agreement on mutual recognition and membership in the European Union as an outcome of the dialogue process.

She said that when it comes to establishment of the Association of Serb-majority Municipalities, Kosovo will respect the Constitutional Court ruling, which ruled that most of the points of the EU-facilitated deal between Kosovo and Serbia are in violation with the Constitution of Kosovo. /GazetaExpress/
