Kosovo reports 488 new COVID-19 cases, 8 new deaths

Kosovo’s National Institute of Public health reported 488 new cases of COVID-19 and eight additional deaths Tuesday, March. 2. That brings the countrywide death toll to 1,616 since the first case of the virus was confirmed by health officials in March 2020, Gazeta Express reports.

The Institute in its daily update said that health institutions have tested 2,886 samples over the last 24 hours and 488 of them are tested positive with the virus. The updated data bring number of COVID-19 cases to 70,185 since the pandemic began. In the last 24 hours have recovered also 270 patients bringing the number of those recovered to 60,333. There are 8,236 active COVID-19 cases in Kosovo, according to the National Institute of Public Health. /GazetaExpress/
