Ramush Haradinaj, leader of the AAK, main coalition partner in the LDK-led Government of Avdullah Hoti, has criticised the Government for disbanding the Anti-Corruption Task Force tasked to investigate high-level corruption in Kosovo. Haradinaj’s statement promoted PM Hoti’s reaction who said that disbanding the Task Force was in compliance with the Constitution and applicable laws.

The two main coalition partners have clashed in distance Saturday after Haradinaj said that last week’s decision of the Government to dissolve the Anti-Corruption Task Force creates judicial insecurity. In a Facebook post Haradinaj said that every decision taken ad—hoc and without prior planning can be understood as political interference on independent processes.

The Prime Minister Hoti answering to Haradinaj’s criticism on Facebook said that the decision to disband the Task-Force was constitutional and legal. Hoti said the justice should work in accordance with the law and not according to the Government’s decisions.  “Politics should not interfere justice. This was done in all our decisions taken over the last few months of our Government,” Hoti wrote. “Return of legality and constitutionality in the country should be priority of all,” Hoti said adding that judicial security is granted by fully respecting the Constitution. “This Government is committed to strengthening rule of law,” Hoti stated. /GazetaExpress/
