Dozens of former Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) veterans marched Friday in Pristina in support of former Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) members who are in The Hague detention facing war crime charges, Gazeta Express reports.

Ex-KLA members gathered in front of the Government and seen waving a KLA flag and placards in support of former Kosovo President Hashim Thaci, former speakers Kadri Veseli and Jakup Krasniqi and MP Rexhep Selimi, who in November 2020 were indicted of war crimes and transferred to the detention center in The Hague.

This march was organised by Nuredin Gashi, a KLA veteran.

They asked Thaci, Veseli, Krasniqi and Selimi to be released from detention and urged the government to react in support of ex-KLA members. /GazetaExpress/

The indictment against the four accused was confirmed on 26 October 2020 and made public on 5 November 2020. The indictment states that the crimes charged were committed from at least March 1998 through September 1999 and took place in several locations across Kosovo as well as in Kukës and Cahan, in Northern Albania. The indictment alleges that Thaçi, Veseli, Selimi and Krasniqi are individually criminally responsible, pursuant to various forms of criminal responsibility for crimes, which were committed in the context of a non-international armed conflict in Kosovo and were part of a widespread and systematic attack against persons suspected of being opposed to the KLA. /GazetaExpress/
