The director of the KIPRED institute, Lulzim Peci, has reacted to the election of Nenad Rashiqi, deputy speaker of the Assembly. He assessed that the decision in question will bring consequences for Kosovo.
The same person also assessed that a constitutional right, which is the representation of the majority of the Serbian community, has been denied with both feet, writes Gazeta Express.
Peci, in his reaction, also stated that if today's decision is not sent to the Constitutional Court, then, as he stated, a precedent will be created, which, according to him, will have profound implications in the already begun dismantling of parliamentary democracy.
Post:
Today's decision to elect the Deputy Speaker of the Assembly from the Serbian community will have consequences for Kosovo.
Today, one of the constitutional rights of representation of the majority of the Serbian community, namely that of representation in the Presidency of the Assembly, was denied with both feet, regardless of what we may think about the Serbian List, as long as it is legal and legitimate.
Let's not forget that this right was not denied to the Albanian majority, and for those who need to be drawn, for this reason AAK has no representatives in the Presidency of the Assembly.
Can you imagine the situation if this right of representation were denied to VV through votes and given to AAK? The equivalent is the same, with today's vote for Rashiq!
If this decision is not sent to the Constitutional Court by the LS, a precedent will be created, which will have profound implications for the already begun dismantling of parliamentary democracy, and with it the shaking of the foundations of the state of Kosovo!
The political logic that "for the sake of the youth (LS), let my son (the state) die" is sending our country down a path that we are consciously taking! And this path is not good for any citizen who considers himself a patriot of the Republic of Kosovo!
