A Serb was "injured" and "kidnapped" in Leposavic by Serbian gendarmerie, Kosovo Police said in a statement.
MV was allegedly injured by masked individuals who had entered the territory of Kosovo.
"On 01.11.2025, the Kosovo Police received information that in the Leposaviq area, a person (MV), a citizen of the Republic of Kosovo, (of Serbian nationality), is suspected of being injured and abducted within the territory of the Republic of Kosovo, by the Serbian gendarmerie," the announcement states.
"The location of the incident where the incident is reported to have occurred is suspected to be located within the territory of the Republic of Kosovo, that is, within the area (as the zero point -0- is called), near the Leposavic area, between the Republic of Kosovo and Serbia, where the Kosovo Police has notified and cooperated with KFOR, as responsible for the border area/belt," the Police statement said.
Police say they have interviewed witnesses to the incident and have obtained information that the injured man was taken towards Niš in Serbia.
"The Kosovo Police, Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Serious Crimes, has undertaken its investigative actions, interviewing witnesses to the case, through whom information was obtained that several masked persons had entered the territory of the Republic of Kosovo, injured and kidnapped the victim, who had then taken him to the territory of Serbia, where, according to witnesses, they took him in an ambulance towards the city of Niš in Serbia."
The police say that they "have taken all necessary actions, in cooperation and coordination with relevant institutions and justice bodies, where in consultation with the competent prosecutor of the Basic Prosecution Office in Mitrovica, Department for Serious Crimes, the case has been initiated."
The police say they "remain committed to carrying out their legal duties and responsibilities in a professional manner towards citizens and the country, cooperating with all security institutions."
