Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, guest on British podcast "Rest is Politics" hosted by Alastair Campbell and Rory Stewart, spoke about several issues affecting the region, including Kosovo.

Regarding the latter, while talking about massacres, Vučić said that there were war crimes committed by Serbs during the war in Kosovo, but, he added, according to him, there were also war crimes committed by Albanians and foreigners against Serbs, Gazeta Express reports.

Vučić described NATO's intervention in Kosovo as opening Pandora's box, which no one can stop.

"This was happening on both sides. It was exaggerated by your side for their sake. It was exaggerated by our side as well. We claimed that there were no war crimes on our side, but there were. But at the same time, there were many war crimes that not only Albanians, but also foreign troops were committing against us. But well, leave that aside. Now the question is: Pandora's box has been opened. Now no one will stop it. No one will stop it until a new world order is created," he said.

The Serbian president also said that people there feel disappointed about NATO's intervention in Kosovo, since "14% of Serbia's territory has been severed."

"Today, if you ask ordinary Serbian people what they feel about 1999 and how they felt then, they feel even more dissatisfaction. They feel even greater disappointment towards the behavior of the 19 countries that launched aggressive attacks on our state. What was done by almost all of them was not in accordance with the UN Charter, nor in accordance with UN Resolution 1444. This was not done to prevent a humanitarian catastrophe, as was said by Alistair and some other wise people, but in fact it was something that the West did to secede 14% of Serbia's territory, which was at least attempted to be done eight, nine years later, in 2008, when they made this self-declaration of independence," he added.

Asked if he sees similarities between the situation in Bosnia and Kosovo, Vučić said that there are "legal changes".

"It's a different legal situation. The roots are... You can find some common elements when talking about the roots or causes of the clashes in Croatia, Bosnia and the other province of Serbia, but in the end it was a different legal situation," Vučić said. /Express
