VMRO-DPMNE accused SDSM of being the "greatest enemy of the state" and the main obstacle in Macedonia's European integration process.
"There is no greater enemy of the state than the SDSM of Zoran Zaev and Venko Filipce," VMRO-DPMNE said in a statement, adding that throughout history, the state "has suffered more from its internal enemies and traitors."
The party claims that the former government made serious concessions to remain in power.
"They changed the constitution, the name of the state, signed treasonous agreements, just to seize power and stay in power for one more day," the statement said.
The statement also says that it was the rule of SDSM, according to VMRO-DPMNE, that was an obstacle to progress towards the European Union.
"The biggest obstacles on the path to the country's European integration are precisely SDSM and their criminal rule," the party claims.
According to the ruling party, the current government is working on the reform agenda and harmonizing legislation with European standards and that it remains committed to the country's integration into the European Union "by meeting the Copenhagen criteria and preserving national identity."
