US President Donald Trump has claimed in a new post on Truth Social that Iran "just informed" Washington that it is in a "state of collapse".
Trump also said Iran wants the US to open the Strait of Hormuz "as soon as possible" while trying to "resolve the situation with his leadership," something he says he believes is possible.

Iran has not yet commented on these claims.
Trump did not say with whom the US has been communicating in Iran, while he has portrayed the regime as in a state of chaos, with the country's supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, reportedly seriously injured, and with lawmakers divided over negotiations over Tehran's nuclear program.
Iran presented a new proposal on Monday for a ceasefire agreement focused on opening the Strait of Hormuz, leaving discussions on nuclear weapons, missiles, sanctions and other issues for later, according to officials in the region.
As The Guardian reports, Iranian officials said Tehran would be willing to discuss the nuclear issue eventually, but only after the US blockade of Iranian ports is ended./Express
