US President Donald Trump has described Iran's reaction to US proposals to end the war as "completely unacceptable", writes A2CNN.
The semi-official Iranian news agency Tasnim said Tehran's proposal, sent through Pakistan, which has served as a mediator, included an immediate end to the war on all fronts, an end to the US naval blockade of Iranian ports and guarantees of no further attacks on Iran.
The ceasefire, which aims to facilitate talks to end the war launched by the US and Israel in February, has been largely respected, despite occasional exchanges of fire.
Earlier this week, Trump reiterated that the war in Iran would be "over soon."
But Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Iran's stockpile of enriched uranium must be "removed" before the war against Iran can be considered over.
"There are still enrichment plants that need to be dismantled," Netanyahu said in an interview with CBS's "60 Minutes."
According to Iranian state media, Tehran's proposal also includes a demand for compensation for war damages and an emphasis on Iranian sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz.
On Sunday, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian did not directly refer to Tehran's proposal, but said: "We will never bow our heads before the enemy, and if talks of dialogue or negotiations arise, this does not mean surrender or withdrawal."
