Snow in Brezovica, sun in Prishtina, events everywhere for the first week of March. It was the top list of Monday Marks from the podcast Suzanne with all the main events from art, culture and civic activism, regardless of the weather. The link to the full list is here.
March is here again. The first week of March brings a rich cultural program in Prishtina and Tirana, where art, historical memory and activism are intertwined in exhibitions, theater, music and poetry. The collective exhibition “36 Hours” opens at Qahili Gallery, a tribute to the resistance of the Jashari family, while the premiere of the play “Nemesis” is given at ODA. The program continues with poetic and feminist activities from Artpolis, as well as with JazzCats musical evenings and an exhibition opening at “Hajde” that explores the themes of collectivity, identity and memory. The atmosphere of March 8 is also reflected in community events and public performances (Ms Indefinite at Skenderbeu Square), including flea markets and cultural activities in alternative public spaces such as Termokiss.
Meanwhile, the agenda also extends to Tirana with the film session of Ekran i Artit with selections from Ars Electronica, as well as a poetic evening from the National Library of Albania dedicated to Pier Paolo Pasolini.
