We live in times of paradoxes: Where justice does not threaten with the law of reason, but threatens with the "law of corruption"; Where honesty and sincerity are valued from the perspective of savagery
Kushtrim Gashi
We live in a time where we can go to the Moon, but we can't visit our relatives;
Where love is expressed more on social media than in real life;
Where a 'belfie' photo gets more likes than a photo of you reading;
Where news about naked women gets more clicks than news about charity and humanity;
Where women become famous because of their followers on Instagram and Facebook;
Where losing your phone is worse than losing your dignity;
Where you go to the bathroom, not to perform personal needs, but to take 'professional' photos;
Where the life of a dog or cat is more important than the life of a human;
Where they care more about patients' pockets than their health;
Where hospitals have become more like shopping malls than centers for public health care;
Where universities have become centers for the trading of titles and diplomas;
Where those who pay more for titles and diplomas are recruited into workplaces, while those who don't pay for them wander the streets;
Where unemployment is a plague that is killing because employment is considered a luxury;
Where you go out in the city and you don't know if you're on the beach or in the square;
Where the headscarf is considered primitivism, while nudity is civilisation;
Where parents don't have time for their children because they are busy with TikTok videos;
Where we have big houses, but no room for our parents;
Where life has become public because everything is posted on social networks, and privacy has been lost;
Where people are more afraid of 'criminals' than of their Creator;
Where the killer doesn't know why he killed, nor the murdered why he was killed;
Where justice does not threaten with the law of reason, but threatens with the "law of corruption";
Where pandemics and economic crises come one after another;
Where politicians do not make the lives of citizens easier, but by making their own lives easier, they make the lives of citizens more difficult;
Where the state, instead of fighting corruption, legitimizes it, precisely with the mechanisms it has created to fight it;
Where 'kleptocracy' is promoted as a way of life in formal democracy;
Where politicians get rich overnight, while citizens roam the streets of the world;
Where the media, instead of being a nightmare for politicians, politicians are a nightmare for the media;
Where politicians' salaries are greater than citizens' annual salaries;
Where a cattle is subsidized more than a child;
Where rich politicians decide on the savings (trust) of poor citizens;
Where in politics, with the salary you receive, you "make millions", while with the same salary outside of politics, you can't even make it through the month;
Where the criteria for employment are party and family, not knowledge and professionalism;
Where the only criterion for hiring a woman is not knowledge, but beauty;
Where people cover the emptiness of the soul with outward appearances;
Where cars and clothes determine a person's weight and worth;
Where friends are there when you invite them to a party, while they disappear when you find yourself in difficulty;
Where the rich are getting richer and richer, while the poor are getting poorer and poorer;
Where there is an attempt to sell the neighborhood where one lives as a value and not the way of creating that lifestyle;
Where neighborhood segregation is defined as a value that should be promoted;
Where virtual friendship is more important than real friendship;
Where having money is more important than having knowledge and dignity;
Where the "fashion" of living in Dubai is presented to us as a cultural level;
Where honesty and sincerity are valued from the perspective of savagery.
