The Basic Prosecution Office in Pristina has requested the imposition of pre-trial detention for singer Besart Kelmendi, known as Gjesti, at the Basic Court in Pristina.
He was arrested on Wednesday and is suspected of three criminal offenses: "Unlicensed Weapon Possession", "Threats" and "Destruction or Damage to Property".
The news about the detention request was confirmed by the spokesperson for the Basic Court in Pristina, Mirlinda Gashi.
The singer was arrested on Wednesday and taken into custody, police announced.
Meanwhile, the Prosecution announced that he was detained for 48 hours and is suspected of three criminal offenses.
According to the Prosecution, it is suspected that the same person has committed the criminal offenses: ''Unauthorized ownership, control or possession of weapons'' under Article 366 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo, the criminal offense ''Threat'' under Article 181 of the Criminal Code, as well as the criminal offense ''Destruction or damage to property'' under Article 321 of the Criminal Code.
