The Milano Cortina Winter Olympic Games officially begin on February 6 and will bring together around 3,800 athletes from around the world, who will compete for two weeks in 16 disciplines, from alpine skiing to figure skating.
But beyond the competitions, there's also a practical question: how do thousands of athletes stay connected inside the Olympic Village? This year, Samsung is providing the answer, with a new and exclusive device.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 Olympic Edition will be distributed free of charge to all Olympic and Paralympic athletes in Milan Cortina, allowing them to communicate with fans, take selfies on the podium and track their physical activity. This futuristic model, decorated with the Olympic rings, will not be sold and will be available exclusively to athletes, starting January 30.

The Daily Mail's Science and Technology Editor, Shivali Best, was among the first to test the device — and discovered a feature that is expected to be particularly popular with single athletes.
Designs
The flip phone, beloved in the early 2000s, returns in a modern version. The Galaxy Z Flip7 Olympic Edition features a clamshell design with a 6.9-inch display that folds in half, ideal for easily slipping into the pocket of a sports bag.
Unlike the standard version that comes in four colors, the Olympic edition has an exclusive royal blue color, which according to Samsung matches the unique style of Milano Cortina 2026. The metal frame is gold-colored, while the back bears the Olympic rings, the Paralympic symbol and the Samsung logo.
The phone also comes with a special Winter Games wallpaper, reminiscent of ice skate tracks. A stylish design that is sure to grab attention – perhaps even inspire dreams of a gold medal.

Applications
The device comes pre-loaded with apps dedicated to athletes, but also allows for additional downloads. These include Athlete365 for performance and mental health, as well as the official Olympic Games app.
But the app that's set to make a difference is the Galaxy Athlete Card. It creates a personal card for each athlete, complete with a photo, name, sport, country represented, and... a direct link to Instagram. Samsung says the feature encourages connection between athletes — and will no doubt be a hit with singles who want to "slide" into private messages during the Games.
camera
Galaxy Z Flip7 features a dual rear camera system: 50MP main and 12MP ultra-wide. Athletes can take photos anywhere in the Olympic Village, including “Victory Selfies” on the podium with rivals and teammates.

The most interesting feature is Dual Recording, which uses both the front and rear cameras simultaneously, recording both what you see and your reaction. Whether it's an emotional conversation with family after winning a medal, or watching a dramatic race, this feature makes the experience much more personal for fans.
Artificial Intelligence
Like every new model, the Z Flip7 comes with AI tools. The Now Brief feature gives athletes personalized daily updates, with reminders, events, and fitness summaries.
Meanwhile, the Interpreter tool offers real-time translation, even without an internet connection — incredibly useful in mountainous areas where the signal is weak.
Unfortunately for the general public, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 Olympic Edition will not be sold. Unless it competes in the Winter Olympics, you'll just have to admire it from afar. /GazetaExpress/
