A former student opened fire at a high school in southeastern Turkey on Tuesday, wounding at least 16 people before killing himself, an official said.
The 18-year-old gunman, who was armed with a shotgun, opened fire at a vocational school in Siverek, Şanlıurfa province, before hiding inside the building. He then killed himself with the same weapon, governor Hasan Şıldak said, writes CNN, reports Gazeta Express.
A teacher, who was among the injured, is in serious condition, NTV television reported.
The motive for the attack remains unclear. Such incidents at schools are rare in Turkey.
