This week, the Prishtina Jazz Festival is resuming, with super performers over four days, and we spoke a little with Taulant Mehmeti about his journey and "return ticket" from Pristina to New York.
Prishtina Jazz Festival is returning to the city! While Taulant Mehmeti, one of the best Albanian jazz performers in the world, is also returning to Prishtina. For Taulant's latest album we wrote during the summer, but a nice anecdote is that 13 years ago, at a long-standing edition of the Prishtina Jazz Festival, this jazz guitarist from Prishtina took his first big steps in front of the public. In the meantime, he went to New York, the epicenter of world jazz, performed in large and small venues, released albums with beautiful music, and here – a decade and more later, he returned to the “crime scene”, or to this evening’s edition of the Prishtina Jazz Festival.
This year, the PJF has held over 4 days from November 14 to 18, at the ODA Theater where it has traditionally been held. There's jazz with metal, folk, and jazz influences, from local and international performers - even big names in world jazz, so get your tickets and enjoy the PJF. Taulant with his Big Apple Quartet performs on the second night, November 15.
