At least eight students and a teacher have been killed and several others injured after a gun attack at a school in southern Turkey, Interior Minister Mustafa Ciftci said.
The incident took place at the "Ayser Calik" High School in the Kahramanmaras area.
The attacker was also killed during the incident, local governor Mukerren Unluer said.
The shocking incident comes a day after 16 people were injured when a former student opened fire at another high school, also in the south of the country, before killing himself, reports BBC, reports Express.
Ciftci said that 13 people were injured, six of whom are in critical condition.
The motive for Wednesday's attack is still unknown and an investigation has been launched.
Turkish media reported that the attacker, believed to have been a teenager, entered two classrooms and had with him five guns and seven magazines, which Unluer claimed belonged to his father, a former police officer.
"The sound of the shooting was very intense," said a reporter for Turkish broadcaster NTV, adding that there was "panic in front of the school."
Footage from the scene showed crowds of people, some filming on their mobile phones, and ambulances leaving the scene.
