Renowned French midfielder N'Golo Kanté has officially arrived in Istanbul to join Fenerbahçe, following his transfer from Saudi club Al Ittihad.
One of the biggest reinforcements of the yellow-blue team during the winter transfer window, Kanté landed at Sabiha Gökçen Airport by private plane from Saudi Arabia, accompanied by members of the club's Board of Directors.
At the exit of the terminal, thousands of Fenerbahçe fans had gathered to welcome the French star with cheers and flares, creating a spectacular atmosphere. Due to the great interest, the authorities had taken increased security measures.
Upon arrival, Kanté greeted the fans before leaving in a private vehicle provided by the club to the hotel, while his presence ignited enthusiasm in Istanbul and confirmed the high expectations that the club and the fans have.
Fenerbahçe has announced that negotiations with the French midfielder have been successfully concluded and the parties have reached a 2.5-year agreement.
Kanté, world champion with France and winner of the Champions League, Premier League and many other major trophies, is expected to join the team's training after completing his medical. /Express newspaper
