Lecce player Lameck Banda collapsed on the pitch during a Serie A match, causing terrifying scenes.
Napoli were winning by a goal with just four minutes left, while visitors Lecce were looking for an equaliser.
As they were preparing for a free kick in a dangerous position, play was immediately stopped after players and staff noticed that Banda had fallen to the ground.
Medical staff responded immediately, even using a stretcher to help the 25-year-old.
After a few minutes, the player was transported off the field to an ambulance present at the stadium.
Fans at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium cheered as reports confirmed that Banda was conscious, a very positive development. He will undergo further tests.
The match ended with a 2-1 victory for Antonio Conte's team.
Jamil Siebert put Lecce ahead inside three minutes, silencing the home fans.
But Napoli reacted in the second half.
Rasmus Hojlund equalized within a minute of the restart, while Matteo Politano scored the winning goal with just over 20 minutes remaining.
The result leaves reigning Serie A champions Napoli nine points behind Inter and just one point behind Milan, who have played a game less.
