British MP Alicia Kearns said that "Brussels is finally waking up," while commenting on the news that the European Union is preparing to cut up to 1.5 billion euros in funding for Serbia due to concerns over democracy.
"Brussels is finally waking up to the slow death of media freedom and the rule of law in Serbia," she wrote in a post on X.
"Action has consequences, and the protection of press freedom must be non-negotiable on Europe's doorstep, let alone for any future membership," Kearns added.
