On Thursday, an incident occurred in Skenderaj involving the mayor of this municipality, Sami Lushtaku, and the head of the LVV branch there, Hysni Mejani.

The event has been a major topic in the Kosovar media and public opinion.

This evening, members of the special unit descended on the city of Skenderaj. This has prompted reactions from PDK figures, who have called it unnecessary and asked Kurti to withdraw them.

The Basic Prosecution Office in Mitrovica has announced that for today's incident in Skenderaj, EL and BN, suspected of committing the criminal offense of "Light bodily injury", have been detained for 48 hours.

Police troops continued to remain, thus inciting a gathering of citizens in front of the Police Station in Skenderaj.

Among them is former MP Ganimete Musliu, who has sought clarification on why there are so many police officers.

Meanwhile, the deputy mayor of the municipality, Fadil Nura, said that every curfew in this city awakens memories that this country has paid dearly for.

From the photos provided by Gazeta Express, a number of citizens are seen seeking clarification from the Police.

Earlier, the Director of the Police for the Mitrovica Region, Afërdita Mikullovci, stated that the deployment of the Special Operations Unit (SOU) at checkpoints on Thursday evening in Skenderaj is a routine police and operational matter.

But, this is not seen in this form by former PDK deputies and citizens in Skenderaj who appeared in front of the police station at midnight. /Gazeta Express
