This month, Prime Minister Albin Kurti went to London for a visit. The highest-ranking official who received him there was the Foreign Secretary. Kurti made a number of announcements about this trip, but the British state did not say anything about their guest. The Elysee Palace had acted similarly last month when Kurti was received by Macron.

The opening of doors in several European capitals for Prime Minister Albin Kurti after the renewal of his mandate earlier this year and the compromise he made on the Law on Foreigners was announced with enthusiasm by his office and his people. Earlier this month, Kurti left for London for meetings with British officials and to participate in a conference.

This was first announced by the coordinator of the committees at the Vetëvendosje Movement, Dejona Mihali, who highlighted the topics he would discuss there.

"Tonight in London. "Economic State Formation and Global Stability", discussion at ODI Global in London. Participant in the discussion is the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti", Mihali wrote on April 9 on Facebook.

Among the most important meetings Kurti held in the British capital was with Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper.

Kurti said he had spoken with him about "Kosovo's economic growth and democratic progress," as well as key areas of investment, such as technology.

"We also highlighted the sectors where we are investing and where we enjoy strong cooperation with the United Kingdom, such as defense," Kurti said, adding that he expects to "strengthen our close partnership" with the United Kingdom.

However, no announcement about this meeting was made by the British Foreign Office.

Just as neither the British nor the French had announced the meeting between their president, Emmanuel Macron, and the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti.

In addition to Cooper, Kurti also met Lord Coaker, Minister of State at the Ministry of Defense, with whom he said he discussed "Kosovo's defense strategy in the face of ongoing threats from Russia and a dynamic geopolitical environment, regional security and ways to further strengthen the very significant partnership that Kosovo and the United Kingdom enjoy."

Kurti was visiting France on March 27 and was welcomed by Macron at the Elysee.

The British did not act the same way towards Kurti when he went to London in June 2023 when Kosovo was facing tensions in the north of the country.

The then Foreign Secretary of the United Kingdom, James Cleverly, had met and welcomed Kurti to the meeting to emphasize the need to take steps to de-escalate the situation.

Kurti in London this time also announced other meetings and his participation in a discussion organized by ODI Global, an institute for development research and policy.

For last, he had left the meeting with historian Sir Noel Malcolm, whom he said had published "the most important international historical account" of Kosovo during the war.
