The KLA War Veterans Organization reacted today through a press release, saying that they consider the postponement of the decision for former KLA leaders in The Hague as another serious blow to justice and fundamental human rights.
"Almost six years of detention without a final decision is not a procedure. It is a sentence without a verdict. No court funded in the name of democracy can normalize such treatment of former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army, whose war paved the way for Kosovo's freedom and statehood," the reaction states.
According to OVL, the delay deepens an unacceptable injustice and erodes the credibility of any institution that claims to uphold the rule of law.
"The dignity of the accused, their families and the people they served cannot be held hostage to endless delays. We demand that the democratic states that finance and support this court act immediately. They must not allow the continued violation of the rights of those men whose place is not there, but with their families and people," the reaction states.
