The Government Commission for Missing Persons has announced that the reburial of Sinan Dauti, who disappeared during the war in Kosovo, will take place tomorrow.

The reburial ceremony will be held on April 18, 2026, at 13:30 PM, in Upper Prekaz, at the Bregaj neighborhood cemetery.

Tomorrow, on 18.04.2026 (Saturday), from 13:30, in Prekaz i Epërm, in the cemetery of the Bregaj neighborhood, the reburial ceremony of Sinan Dauti, missing during the war, who on April 12, 1999 was seriously injured by Serbian forces and two days later died in Mitrovica, as a result of his wounds, while during these years the family had no information about his fate and whereabouts.

After a long search process and continuous efforts over the years, by the Government Commission for Missing Persons, the Institute of Forensic Medicine and the Police Directorate for the Investigation of War Crimes - Missing Persons Sector, as well as with the support of the International Committee of the Red Cross, the mortal remains of Sinan Dauti were found in the Suhodoll cemetery in Mitrovica, while the identification was recently carried out by the Institute of Forensic Medicine.

The reburial ceremony is being organized at the request of the family, with the support of the Government Commission for Missing Persons and the Municipality of Skenderaj.

On this occasion, at this difficult moment for the family, we express our most sincere condolences to the Dauti family.

The Government Commission on Missing Persons and other institutions engaged in this process remain committed to continuing efforts to clarify the fate of all missing persons and to guarantee the families' right to the truth.
