Analyst Adri Nurellari, through a Facebook post, said that the political crisis in the country "benefits" the incumbent Prime Minister Albin Kurti, as he "expands political control" with an "ad interim president" like Albulena Haxhiu.
Nurellari stated that Kurti was in no hurry to compromise on the presidency, as he remains prime minister and ''holds the main levers of power'', Gazeta Express reports.
Post:
Kurti knows that even after new elections he will not have the votes to elect the president alone, but he also knows that without him he will not be able to be elected. But until then, he has been in no hurry to compromise, because he still remains prime minister and holds the main levers of executive power.
This is precisely why this protracted crisis of new elections is advantageous to him. With an interim president like Haxhiu, he expands political control through appointments to institutions, diplomacy, boards, and key positions.
Even if a compromise for the president is reached after the February 7 elections, the institutional apparatus will be filled in advance with loyalists who remain there with mandates set for years (except in cases where they are caught violating the law).
