Robert Lewandowski's future remains uncertain.
A club is said to be making a concrete move, while the possibility of him staying at Barcelona has not yet been ruled out.
According to Sky Sports, Barcelona president Joan Laporta has held talks with Lewandowski's agent Pini Zahavi, and the club is open to extending the deal until 2027.
Lewandowski will have to accept a pay cut to renew his contract with Barcelona, however both parties believe a deal can be reached, despite the financial expectations.
Meanwhile, Chicago Fire – the former club of Bayern legend Bastian Schweinsteiger – have reportedly made an initial offer to Lewandowski's representatives, allowing the 37-year-old to join them immediately after the end of the season at Barca.
Clubs in Saudi Arabia and Italy also remain interested, with Milan and Juventus recently linked with the striker.
The striker has remained reserved recently about his future plans.
At the beginning of March, he stated that both staying at Barça and a possible transfer are options for him: "I don't know. Because I have to feel it.
"I can't tell you anything at the moment, because I'm not even 50 percent sure which path I want to take. It's not the right time yet."
Under Barcelona coach Hansi Flick, Lewandowski continues to feature regularly, although he sometimes starts from the bench. His tally of 17 goals and three assists in 40 games, in just over 2,000 minutes of play, remains impressive./Express newspaper/
