The arrest of Serbian senior official Marko Djuric by the Kosovo Police on Monday in Mitrovica North, have strained relations between Kosovo President Hashim Thaci and Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj. Reportedly Thaci has disregarded PM Haradinaj when ordering Kosovo Police special units to arrest Djuric.
A source told Gazeta Express that the man who has control over the northern part of the territory inhabited mainly by Serbs, Milan Radojcic, has created tensions between Kosovo state leaders – President Thaci and Prime Minister Haradinaj. Radojcic, who is considered as mafia boss in the north of Kosovo and controls also local Serb politicians in the north, is reportedly a good friend of Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj. A few months ago Haradinaj and Radojcic were seen dinning in one of the restaurants of Pristina. But media have reported that Radojcic is also the man who is behind the killing of Kosovo Serb politician, Oliver Ivanovic who was gunned down in January in Mitrovica North. This is why Kosovo President Hashim Thaci asked his arrest. Gazeta Express has learned that Milan Radojcic has visited Haradinaj recently to discuss modalities of Srpska List MPs vote the ratification of the Agreement on border demarcation with Montenegro. The meeting was attended also by Speaker of Parliament Kadri Veseli, as well as deputy prime ministers Fatmir Limaj and Behgjet Pacolli. Sources told Gazeta Express that President Thaci is putting pressure on the rule of law institution to arrest Milan Radojcic over his role on Oliver Ivanovic’s killing.
