Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), and Nisma for Kosova will run as a coalition in upcoming elections expected to be held on 11 June. The three political parties have signed a pre-electoral coalition and submitted the request to the Central Election Commission (CEC) only minutes before midnight on Tuesday.
A source told Gazeta Express that the PDK, AAK, and Nisma have reached a pre-electoral coalition only minutes before the deadline for registering of coalitions in the CEC. The PDK earlier on Tuesday signed pre-electoral coalition with smaller parties. Media are reporting that the three parties which are headed by former Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) leaders, have proposed the AAK leader, Ramush Haradinaj, will be running for the office of prime minister, whereas the PDK leader Kadri Veseli will be bearer of the joint election list.
The deadline for registering pre-electoral coalition expired on Tuesday midnight. The country will hold early elections on 11 June after a majority of lawmakers voted no-confidence in Prime Minister Isa Mustafa's government last week.
