Turkish General Consulate in Prizren has been attacked on Monday morning with what is believed to be a Molotov cocktail. The building located near the historical center of Prizren was slightly damaged, No injuries have been reported.
Prizren Chief Prosecutor, Syle Hoxha, has confirmed the incident to gazeta Express stating that it occurred on Monday at around 04:00 a.m. “The Building of the Turkish General Consulate in Prizren has been attacked causing only minor material damages. No people have been injured in this incident. The investigators have responded to the scene and investigations are ongoing,” said Hoxha. According to him, the Kosovo Police and the Prosecution Office took necessary measures and have arrested five suspected persons related to this case. “Five people have been arrested and put under 48 hours custody,” said Hoxhaj.
The motives of the attack remain unknown. Media reported on Monday that a group of citizens were filmed removing Turkish flags which were placed along with Albanian as part of celebration of 28 November - the Independence Day of Albania, known as the Flag Day. /Gazeta Express/
