Austrian Chancellor, Sebastian Kurz, who is visiting Pristina today at a joint press conference with Kosovo President, Hashim Thaci, said his country supports any agreement reached between Kosovo and Serbia, including the idea promoted by Serbia and Russia on correction of border or land swap, Gazeta Express reports.
Kurz said that Austria is ready to accept every agreement reached between the two countries, without excluding the correction of border or land swap. He made similar statement while in Belgrade on Monday after meeting Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic. “My stance is very clear: Austria supports any agreement reached between Kosovo and Serbia. If parties agree to a deal, no one has the right to go against it,” Kurz told journalists in Pristina. He also said that this is the stance of the European Union. “This is also within the EU, even if this means correction of border or land swap, it will be supported also by the European Union,” Kurz stated. Austrian chancellor called on Kosovo citizens to support efforts on reaching of a final agreement with Serbia.
When commenting on visa liberalisation for Kosovo, Kurz said that there are some EU countries that are sceptical and noted that his country is also reluctant on Kosovo’s plans to create its army. /GazetaExpress/
