Kosovo has joined the US and other Western countries recognising on Wednesday Juan Guaidó as the Interim President of Venezuela.
Kosovo’s Foreign Minister, Behgjet Pacolli, in a Tweet on Wednesday congratulated Guaidó and confirmed that Kosovo officially recognizes him as President of Venezuela. “On behalf of the people and Government of Kosovo to Juan Guaidó and the people of Venezuela: We wish you all the best in your path to restore democracy and we stand with you until Libertad is restored,” Pacolli wrote.
Kosovo is positioned with the US and other Westenr democracies who decided to recognise the self-declared president of Venezuela as legitimate and provisional president until new elections take place. Guaido, who called on massive protests against the Nicola Maduro’s government, proclaimed himself on Wednesday himself as provisional leader of Venezuela. Thousands of citizens took streets in Karakas to protest against Maduro.
