Guinea-Bissau has reconfirmed recognition of Kosovo as independent country. State minister of this country, Fabien Sagna, has on Monday handed over a letter of the President José Mário Vaz, confirming that this country recognises Kosovo. This reconfirmation refutes allegations of Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic who in November last year stated that Guinea-Bissau has revoked recognition of Kosovo.
President Thaci in a press release issued on Monday thanked the visit of the Guinea-Bissau officials who attended the celebrations of the tenth anniversary of Kosovo’s independence, stating that this confirms the relations between Kosovo and Guinea-Bissau are strong despite attempts to hurt these relations . “I thank the President Vaz, your government, for recognition of Kosovo’s independence. Kosovo will be always your friend and we will deepen our cooperation,” said Thaci.
On the other hand the State minister and representative of the Guinea-Bissau President, Fabien Sagna, on behalf of the President Vaz congratulated Thaci and citizens of Kosovo on tenth anniversary of Independence.
