The director of Gazeta Express, Berat Buzhala, received death threats from a man called Fitim Boshnjaku. In his life-threating messages, Boshnjaku warned journalist Buzhala to never mention the name of Pristina Mayor Shpend Ahmeti, stating that he is “ready to kill” if Buzhala continues writing on Pristina Mayor.
Buzhala said to have reported the case to the police. The Association of Journalists of Kosovo (AJK) has condemned the threat against director of Gazeta Express. AJK in a press release announced that they were promised by the Kosovo Police General Director, that all threats against journalists will be dealt seriously. Also former Kosovo MP Burim Ramadani condemned the threat and called on Pristina mayor, Shpend Ahmeti, to distance himself from the threats against Buzhala.
