European Parliament's vice president pays homages at Adem Jashari’s memorial GazetaExpress

Vice president of the European Parliament, Rainer Wieland, has on Thursday visited the memorial of the founder of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), Adem Jashari, who was killed by Serbian police and military forces with over 50 members of the extended family in March 1998.

Wieland who visited the memorial accompanied by Adem Jashari’s newpeh Bekim Jashari who is also mayor of Skenderaj, said that he is honoured to pay the visit at the memorial. “It was my honour to host the vice president of the European Parliament, Rainder Wieland, and his associates, when we paid homage at the memorial complex ‘Adem Jashari’ in Prekaz,” said Skenderaj mayor Bekim Jashari. Following the homages Wieland has visited also other compounds within the memorial complex, marking the beginning of the armed resistance of Kosovo Albanians against Serbian police and military forces.
