US Ambassador to Kosovo, Greg Delawie, said that ratification of the Agreement on border demarcation with Montenegro is closer than ever to ratification.
In a tweet on Monday, Delawie said that Kosovo MPs should ‘bring it across the finish line’ the ratification of this agreement, which is one of the last criteria for Kosovo to get visa liberalisation with the EU. “Lots of hard work across party lines has brought the Border Demarcation Agreement with Montenegro closer than ever to ratification. MPs - it’s time to bring it across the finish line this week,” Delawie wrote in Twitter.
The Parliament has failed three times in a row to ratify the demarcation due to lack of votes after opposition parties keep insisting that current version of the deal is wrong and takes Kosovo over 8000 hectares of land. The session on ratification has been postponed indefinitely.
