The former leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa, has made a statement regarding the developments in this party. He recalled that he had resigned because of the election results, and not because someone in the LDK bodies did not want him, reports Express..
Mustafa also recalled how, after the LDK's results in the 2021 elections, Avdullah Hoti had offered to resign before him. However, Mustafa continues in his interview with KP, he had taken responsibility since he had been the chairman of LDK.
'When I resigned, I resigned because of the result, not because of whether or not someone in the LDK bodies liked me, because if I had gone to the LDK bodies, it would have been a different position, but I resigned. Avdullah Hoti came, I'm saying it publicly today, before I resigned, Hoti came to my office and said, "I'm resigning, because I led the campaign, I was first on the list, I was a candidate for prime minister, and I take responsibility as mine." I told him, "No, it's not your responsibility. I am the chairman of the LDK, you are not. I led the LDK structures when you were nominated and you had the full support of the vast majority of the general council and other LDK structures, you led the campaign, you are not to blame for the changes that have occurred." Big things happened then, almost half of the LDK left.
Asked whether he would pass the vote of confidence in the LDK if he, like Abdixhiku, addressed the bodies of this party five years ago, Mustafa stated that it had never occurred to him to appear before the Assembly of this party.
"I never wanted to go to the Assembly, because I was going to go, I worked hard. I wanted to go in 2019, in 2019 I called my colleagues, I told them that I would not continue, I have health problems, I cannot move in the field, I cannot campaign. And I told them that you have two months to come to an agreement among yourselves, they came and said ''we have no choice, please let me stay, we will do as much work as possible, replace me in the field,'' he said.
