Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski stated that the state has no challenges in the supply chain with oil and oil derivatives and that we have the cheapest fuels in the region, emphasizing that kerosene is supplied to several airports in the region in addition to the supply made by citizens from neighboring countries to us at gas stations in border areas.

If such a challenge occurs, Mickoski said today, then in time we will "repackage" ourselves and prepare a new strategy.

"The situation with oil and oil derivatives - diesel fuel, unleaded gasoline, kerosene, ... is in an extremely good condition. As a state, at this moment we do not see any challenges in the supply chain. We are in constant coordination with suppliers. From this aspect, we do not see any risk for our citizens and businesses. There are sufficient quantities in state reserves, but also in the pipeline connecting the port of Thessaloniki with the OKTA refinery, which is already functional and operational," declared Mickoski, after participating in the laying of the cornerstone for the expansion of the "Strasho Pinxhur" Municipal Primary School in Gjorche Petrov.

Not only do we have sufficient quantities for our citizens and businesses, the prime minister emphasized, but consumption has also increased, on certain days by 30 percent, because many citizens from neighboring countries come to us and are supplied with fuel. The pressure is greater on the northern, southern and western borders because both diesel and unleaded fuels are significantly cheaper here, said Mickoski, emphasizing that the price of diesel fuel here is lower by over 0,6 euros per liter compared to that in our southern neighbor, and by 0,3 euros per liter compared to that in Serbia.

"Also, with the kerosene we export, some airports receive kerosene, such as Pristina airport and some others. So, at this moment, fact number one is that our citizens use the cheapest fuels in the region and fact number two is that we have sufficient quantities and at the moment we do not see any challenges related to the shortage. If such a challenge occurs, then we will repackage it at the right time and prepare a new strategy," Mickoski declared.

Asked if he is considering limiting fuel filling in border areas, he reiterates that for the moment we are stable and that he does not see any challenges in terms of fuel shortages.
