The refusal of the Minister of Justice Filkov to take the bar exam in the Albanian language, despite the fact that the Law does not prohibit it, represents a strategy and obstruction against the Albanian language. This is the assessment of the university professor of law, Mersim Maksuti. According to him, this act of refusal will also serve as a plus argument before the judges of the Constitutional Court, in their already understood tendency, to repeal the Law on the Use of Languages in the initiative undertaken before this Court, reports Portalb.mk.
"To prevent its implementation in all judicial procedures before the courts, in public prosecutors' offices, in procedures of state administration bodies at all levels of state power, in bodies, commissions and in all other public institutions that, according to the Law on the Use of Languages (2019), are obliged ex officio to conduct proceedings in the language spoken by at least 20% of citizens, read: in the Albanian language, as well as to issue decisions and other acts that arise from the competence of these institutions in this language as well", Maksuti wrote on social media.
