A total of 11 men accused by Washington of drug trafficking were killed last night when the US Armed Forces struck the ships they were on, two in the Pacific and one in the Caribbean, according to a statement from the US military.
The new American attacks were announced via X by the joint command of the US Armed Forces responsible for Latin America and the Caribbean.
In this strike campaign that has now lasted for more than six months, at least 140 people have been killed since September.
The legality of the campaign, which officially targets cartels that transport drugs into the US, is being questioned by experts and is causing strong reactions among government and opposition figures in Washington.
The Trump administration has never presented tangible evidence that any of the ships hit were involved in illegal trafficking.
The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights sees these bombings as "extrajudicial executions," a view that even experts agree with. /Panorama
