SDSM accused that salaries in Macedonia are low, while the prices of basic products and energy are constantly increasing, and the government led by Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski, according to the party, is not taking measures to improve the living standards of citizens.

SDSM says that more than 200,000 workers in the country barely cover basic living expenses.

"Workers in Macedonia are barely making ends meet. Over 200,000 workers survive on wages that cannot even cover basic living needs," the response states.

The party criticizes the government for refusing to increase the minimum wage to 600 euros and claims that instead of supporting workers, the prime minister insults those who demand higher incomes.

According to SDSM, Mickoski stated that salaries in public administration are good "considering how much they work," and that they do not need annual leave, which, as they state, is an underestimation of the workers' work.

The party also points out that rising oil prices are further increasing the prices of food and basic products.

They add that at this rate of price increases, wages are losing value every day and warn that the economy cannot be considered strong if workers' wages remain low.
