LeBron James has made NBA history by setting the record for most games played in a regular season, as he led the Los Angeles Lakers to a dramatic 105-104 victory over the Orlando Magic.

In his 1,612th appearance, the 41-year-old surpassed Robert Parish's previous record of 1,611 games. The Lakers' victory came in the final seconds, when Luke Kennard made a decisive 3-pointer with just 0.6 seconds left.

"It just happened. It wasn't on my list of things I wanted to accomplish," James said after the game. "I wanted to be the best player in the league, one of the greatest ever, win championships and individual awards. But what's happened in the last few years has been truly extraordinary."

In addition to the record, James contributed 12 points, six rebounds, four assists and three steals, helping the Lakers record their ninth straight win. The Lakers are currently ranked third in the Western Conference, while the Magic hold the eighth position in the East.

"I always wanted to be available for my team. It's physically and mentally challenging to be on the court constantly, but my love for the game and my confidence have helped me," he added.

In another major achievement, Kevin Durant passed Michael Jordan on the all-time regular-season scoring list, moving into fifth place with 32,294 points. Durant scored 27 points in the Houston Rockets' dramatic 123-122 win over the Miami Heat.

"It means a lot to me. I'm grateful for this incredible journey and I want to continue it," Durant said.

Meanwhile, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander shone with 40 points in the Oklahoma City Thunder's 132-111 victory over the Washington Wizards, in a tense game that saw four players ejected after a brawl late in the second quarter.

The defending champions, the Thunder, continue to lead the Western Conference, while the Wizards are ranked 14th in the East.
