Famous actor Jackie Chan, during a recent interview on "The Kelly Clarkson Show", revealed that country music played a key role in his learning of English.
The actor said that when he moved from Hong Kong to the US, he had great difficulty communicating on set and always relied on a translator.
I learned English through country songs, because they are slow and clear.
So said Jackie Chan. He wowed the audience by singing a portion of Willie Nelson's hit "Always on My Mind." The song, which was originally released in 1972 and made famous by Elvis Presley and later by Nelson, was one of the tools that helped the actor understand the pronunciation and context of English words.
Chan appeared on the show alongside Ralph Macchio and Ben Wang to promote the new film "Karate Kid: Legends."
