The acting Prime Minister, Ablin Kurti, participated in a dinner organized by the Global Albanian Business Network.
There, Kurti gave a speech where he declared on a number of issues, including his plans if he manages to form the next government, saying that the main focus will be the construction of railways, Gazeta Express reports.
''We should mention that in the coming mandate, our Government will be focused primarily on railways. There is no rapid economic development without railways. And we have in mind 4 main railways: The first is the Pristina-Durrës railway, which includes the Gjakova-Shkodra segment and connects the Pristina Dry Port with the new port of Durrës, and we have 50 percent of our imports from Durrës as a state, so 50 percent of Kosovo's imports come through Durrës; The other railway is what is called Corridor X, from Hani i Elezit to Fushë Kosova, to Mitrovica and up to Leshak; "The next is the railway that we will build, which connects Prizren with Ferizaj with Gjilan and with Bujanovac, this is an extremely important railway and the fourth that our compatriots are most excited about is the modern railway segment that will connect the Pristina International Airport "Adem Jashari" with the capital of the Republic, Pristina. So, the next mandate will be a mandate for railways," Kurti declared, the OPM reports.
Furthermore, Kurti also spoke about his plans regarding security, saying that there will be a "1 billion investment in the army".
''We will have an investment of 1 billion in the army, in defense, in security, where the military industry will be the main focus, and in particular the production of ammunition at the Jahoc factory in Gjakova, as well as the production of drones.
"At the end of this year we will have the first "Made in Kosovo" cartridges for the Kosovo Security Force," Kurti added.
